Irena M. Baker, DDS
Dr. Baker finds great fulfillment and passion in the art of creating beautiful smiles and making a difference in the lives of patients whom she treats. Her warm personality, energy, and down-to-earth attitude make her an excellent health care professional. Most importantly, Dr. Baker brings an exceptional level of undivided attention to all of her patients.
After living in Seattle as a teenager and moving away Dr. Baker had two dreams: to become an orthodontist and to come back to Seattle. Many years later both dreams became a reality. In 1992, Dr. Baker settled with her family in the Mt. Baker neighborhood, to live and work close to the office. Her family includes her husband Doug, and their two children, Lucie and Gordon.
Dr. Baker loves art, music, travel, dance, gardening, and staying active and involved in the community. She is a rower with the Conibear Rowing Club, a supporter of a little league baseball team (Dr. Baker’s Bracers) and professor of orthodontics at the University of Washington. She is an active member of many professional organizations and has published and lectured on orthodontic topics like adult treatment, extractions, impacted canines, and Invisalign®. Dr. Baker keeps up with the newest innovations in orthodontics and brings the experience of over 20 years treating her patients to the highest standards of care. She was also honored by her peers to serve as a President of the Washington State Society of Orthodontists.
Dan Schruth, DDS
Raised in Spokane, Washington, Dr. Schruth grew up on the outside edge of the city, right where suburbia transitions into the rolling Palouse hills. As the son of two physical therapist parents, Dr. Schruth gained an appreciation for a career in medicine – or the “helping professions” as his father called it – at a relatively young age. The mountains and hiking trails that encompass Spokane were ideal territory for his two foremost youth activities – running and downhill ski racing.
Dr. Schruth attended the University of Washington, where he completed his undergraduate studies and eventually obtained his DDS degree from the University of Washington School of Dentistry, graduating at the top of his class. After working as a general dentist, Dr. Schruth pursued two more years of advanced dental training in the specialty of orthodontics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Since that time, Dr. Schruth has been a practicing orthodontist in the Seattle area and has successfully treated a broad spectrum of orthodontic challenges. He loves getting to know his patients personally over the course of treatment while helping them reach their smile goals.
Dr. Schruth is happily married to his wife Alexandra, a second-grade teacher with Seattle Public Schools. They are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their first child, a baby girl, later this year. Dr. Schruth loves the Pacific Northwest and everything it has to offer. Outside the office you might find him running, cheering on the Seahawks or Huskies, skiing, or spending time with friends and family.
